Sheffield Riders Do The Buisness Down Under

Updated: December 27, 2017

As we come to the end of 2017 and with our Sheffield team members safely home from Australia, I thought it time to give a quick rundown of our rider’s results in the Southern Hemisphere. Most of you I am sure will have seen these already on the Star’s Facebook page, but for those who have not, here we go.

Junior GT Britain which featured our own Adam Watson & Ed Morton comprehensively won the test series against Australia with both Adam & Ed putting some big scores on the board for the rampant Lions. The GB Women’s team also won their test series with Laura Watson & Niamh Morton representing the Lioness’s and once again piling up the points in convincing fashion. Only the senior GB team came unstuck losing their series 2-1 to Australia.

The Sheffield four-some all made the Individual World Finals for their age groups with Ed Morton finishing in fourth place after a run off for the final podium position in the U18 Junior Final.

Everyone seemed to have a great time and a very successful time, Sheffield’s Emily Morton managed the women’s team and looking at the results did a top job.

With the new season due to start in March the riders are taking a well-earned rest, the Sheffield squad from what I hear is looking very solid, with last years riders being joined by returnee Nigel Howarth. This should indeed spread the load and give the Star’s that extra bite they were sometimes missing in 2017, could 2018 be the year that all the hard work comes to fruition?

Wishing you all a Happy & Prosperous New Year.
