5.GB Training Camp
Last Sunday the best riders in the country came to Sheffield for the first get together. The best elite men, women and under 18’s did some testing and training ready for a long season of training ahead. The goal….to beat the Australians in their own backyard and for a British rider to win a world title.
You can keep track of progress via our club website, facebook or even on the BC website or rider websites such asnAndy Angell’s website http://www.andyangell.co.uk/
6. Rob Mace Marathon Man
The weeks go by and i get closer to my goal of completing the Manchester marathon on 28th April. It still seems like a long way off but when i consider the amount of days i’ll be able to train and the lack of training in march it suddenly seems really close.
To make sure I get into as good a shape as i can be i have saved a lot of leave towards the end of my working year and have been using it the last couple of weeks.
My training has stepped up and i have dedicated these days off to training with a long run in the morning followed by cycling in the evening. For example in the last 8 days i have done 4 days of training that has involved a 15 mile run in the morn and an hour in the evening on the bike at an aerobic level. The stats are encouraging. My last run 15.5 miles @ 8 min 17 seconds per mile avg. Heart rate 163 per min.
I’ll keep you posted and will be sending a sponsorship form round soon. Justgiving will not be used because it will cost too much money so it will be old fashioned sponsorship i am afraid.
Happy Cycling
